The Rotary Club of Amman Philadelphia

The Rotary Club of Amman Philadelphia was established in the year 1980 with 20 founding members and was chartered on 17/9/1980 to be the second Rotary Club in Jordan.

The Rotary Club is an international service organisation that brings together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian services and advance goodwill and peace around the world. The Rotary Club has a history in Jordan dating back to the mid-twentieth century.
The first Rotary Club in Jordan was established in the capital city of Amman in 1956. The Amman Rotary Club was chartered under Rotary International, becoming the 20,313th club in the world. Since then, 11 other Rotary Clubs have been established in Jordan, bringing the total to 12.In addition to these clubs, there are also several Rotaract and Interact Clubs in Jordan, which are affiliated with Rotary International and are composed of young people aged 12 to 30 who are committed to community service and leadership development.
Over the years, the Rotary Clubs in Jordan have been involved in a wide range of community service projects, including:

Supporting refugee relief efforts in neighbouring countries

Providing clean drinking water to rural communities

Supporting education initiatives by building schools and providing scholarships to students

Promoting maternal and child health by providing medical supplies and services

Building community centres and sports facilities

In addition to these local projects, the Rotary Clubs in Jordan have also collaborated with other Rotary Clubs from around the world on international service projects. For example, in response to the Syrian refugee crisis, Rotary clubs in Jordan partnered with clubs from the United States, Canada, and other countries to provide humanitarian aid and support to Syrian refugees living in Jordan.
In recognition of their efforts, Rotary Clubs in Jordan have received numerous awards and honours from Rotary International, including the Presidential Citation and the Service Above Self Award.
The Rotary Clubs in Jordan have been involved in various community service projects over the years, including providing education and vocational training to underprivileged youth, supporting health and sanitation initiatives, and promoting peace and conflict resolution efforts in the region.
Additionally, the Rotary Clubs in Jordan have also been involved in international projects, partnering with other Rotary Clubs from around the world to provide disaster relief and humanitarian aid to countries in need.
Today, the Rotary Clubs in Jordan continue to play an active role in promoting social responsibility and community service, both locally and globally.
